Discipline leads to life and health

Updated: May 7

Lately Jehovah Rophe has been showing me how much He really wants his children to be healthy and whole.

Today, He led me to Isaiah 38:16 in the New Living Translation (NLT). I got so excited that I had to share this Bible verse with you. Read it out loud.

Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health.

You restore my health and allow me to live!

Discipline is self-controlled behavior ... your habits, routines, work ethic, etc.. Generally speaking, discipline is motivated by one of three reasons.

  1. To prevent

  2. To help

  3. To correct

For example, a person may exercise and eat clean because they want to be proactive about their health. Another may take steps to manage high risk factors for certain illnesses that run in their family following a doctor's warning from a physical or bloodwork results. And some people are fighting to fix or slow down rate of declining health and damage caused by obesity, sedentary lifestyle or poor eating habits.

If God has been dealing with you about your your weight, eating habits, or exercise at any of these levels, then trust that your heavenly Father knows what's best for you. Not only that but He promises that if you apply his discipline (forewarning, guidance and/or correction), then He will restore your health.

Let's put a praise on that in advance! Thank you for your grace, Jehovah Rophe. Your discipline doesn't always feel good, but it's always good for me and leads me to life and health.

Your Faith & Fitness Coach,

Fanny B
